The multi-tasking capabilities of our horizontal boring mills and vertical turning centers have drawn producers of oilfield equipment parts to Giddings & Lewis. The addition of contouring heads and feedout bars to live spindle boring mills allow manufacturers to add turning boring and grooving operations, reducing setups. Contours, chamfers, tapers, internal part geometries and threading are just a few of the operations possible. The large capacity and drilling and boring capabilities of a live spindle VTC make MAG Giddings & Lewis vertical lathes the choice of many oilfield valve manufacturers. VTCs with right angle heads allow cutting on the sides of a part.
